VLSI Plus, Ltd.

VLSI Plus was founded in 2004 as a boutique VLSI design services house. The founder, Yoav Lavi, is a veteran VLSI designer and design manager, who had worked for Intel, National Semiconductors and others. Initially the company provided ASIC design services, specializing in efficient silicon implementation of advanced image processing functions. In 2005 the company became MIPI contributor, and helped write MIPI CSI2 specifications. In 2007 the company sold its first IP product - a MIPI CSI2 / SMIA CCP compliant dual-mode Receiver IP. Since that time the company introduced CSI2 Rx and Tx IP cores, for ASIC and for FPGA implementations. In 2009 VLSI Plus became the first MIPI CSI2 IP provider to receive MIPI IOL (Interoperability) certificate. The tests were run on an FPGA version of the company's 4 lane CSI2 receiver IP core, embedded in a customer's product. In 2012 the company introduced second generation CSI2 IP products, allowing processing of several pixels per clock cycle, and supporting 8-lane extended CSI2.Today, the major CMOS image sensor vendors use VLSI Plus CSI2 Rx IP cores, embedded in customer's products, for the production floor testing of their image sensor modules. The company's list of customers includes companies like Intel.
